Water is a critical commodity in the mining and processing of ore on site. The planned capacity increase of the expansion study will require additional water of varying qualities. This portion of the study was to upgrade or replace various parts of the existing water transfer and treatment process.
OUR INVOLVEMENT
Capisce Qs worked as part of the design team to produce a first principles Class 3 Estimate to BHP’s guidelines for Capital and Operation cost of the proposed design. In addition to estimating, the team facilitated and participated in a cost risk workshop to determine the appropriate level of contingency through statistical analysis.
VALUE ADDED
Assisted the WSP team with establishing capex and opex costs for this critical infrastructure. Working with the team we conducted detailed risk workshops to provide adequate contingency ranging suitable for a project of this nature, allowing progression of the project through BHP gating requirements.
